Horton Housing is a not-for-profit Housing Association that manages a wide range of different housing, training and support services across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and North Yorkshire. We offer support to a variety of people, including those who are homeless or at risk, young people and refugees. We offer accommodation, skills and language support, and use a strength based approach to help the people we support achieve their goals in a manner which works for them.
We are currently recruiting for an exciting development opportunity, perfect for a Support Worker/Coach to step up into. This vacancy is for a Team Leader to join our HACS 4 Women scheme in Bradford. This role is full time, 35 hours per week.
Housing, Accommodation, Community, and Support (HACS) services provides housing-related support for people in temporary housing accommodation and floating support in the community who have experience periods of homelessness, are at risk of becoming homeless, or have an unsettled lifestyle.
The role
In this role you will assist the Service Manager with the day-to-day operational management of the service. You will supervise and guide a team of support workers to deliver housing-related and floating support and ensure the people we support receive a holistic, strength based, personalised service. Finally, as the Team Leader, you will provide support and guidance to individuals, assigned to you with any aspects of their housing and support needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Support Worker/Coach to step up into a management position.
What we are looking for
- Experience in a support environment with an ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop colleagues.
- Experience of working in a support based setting/service
- Experience of strong partnership working including liaising and working closely with a range of housing providers, support services, statutory and non-statutory agencies.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues facing people who have faced issues such as homelessness, addiction and offending
- Evidence of vocational training and/or professional development in relevant skills for the post (e.g. housing, mental health, welfare benefits)
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries
- Commitment to Equality & Diversity
- A willingness to undertake any further training required
- Driving Licence and a vehicle for business use is desirable
- Enhance DBS check
