The publication Independent guidance
Editorial policy and source checking
How Housing & Support Careers uses primary sources, marks examples and dates, handles uncertainty and separates guidance from job advertisements.
This policy describes the current publication. It applies to the guides, comparison tables and worksheets on Housing & Support Careers. This edition and its source checks were prepared on 4 November 2026.
Start with a reader decision
Each guide should help with a defined task: comparing roles, identifying an entry route, understanding a real specification, choosing application evidence or researching a local area. We do not publish interchangeable town pages or describe invented vacancies to fill a directory.
Practical exercises and editorial suggestions are our own organisation of the subject. They do not imply that an employer uses a particular hiring method or will accept a particular type of evidence.
Use sources suited to the claim
For careers and qualifications, we prefer official careers services, awarding or professional bodies and current regulator guidance. For local information, we use the relevant council or public careers service. A source about one employer, course or jurisdiction is not evidence of a universal sector rule.
Factual references are linked near the relevant discussion and/or listed under a guide's sources. A source's checked date records when it was consulted for this edition; it is not a guarantee that the source has remained unchanged. A linked organisation has not endorsed this site.
Keep uncertainty and scope visible
We distinguish general work themes from requirements of a particular vacancy. We do not infer an old advert's salary, duties, qualifications or closing date from its URL. The two retained job-shaped addresses contain new independent career guides, not live job advertisements or reconstructed adverts.
Regulated topics are described at career-information level. We direct readers to current primary guidance and to the actual employer for questions about a role. We do not decide an individual's legal eligibility, DBS eligibility, professional competence or suitability for employment.
Be honest about examples and authorship
AI assistance was used in drafting and producing this edition. We do not claim an external specialist has reviewed it or invent a named expert. Attribution uses the publication name.
Worked examples marked fictional illustration explain a method. They are not testimonials, real candidate stories or successful applications. Readers should use their own true examples, remove identifying information and describe their own contribution accurately.
Dates and future changes
A preparation date records creation of this edition. A source-check date records an actual consultation of the cited material. If a page is substantively changed, its update date should record that change; routine deployment or a footer change does not justify a fresh editorial date.
The accompanying editorial register identifies subjects needing earlier review, particularly qualification rules and local support links. No automatic monitoring service or guaranteed review timetable is operating on this site. Check the linked primary guidance before relying on a time-sensitive detail.
Corrections and contact limits
No public publisher inbox has been verified for this edition. We do not display a guessed email address or claim to offer a correction service that cannot receive messages. Contact and enquiries explains the current limitation and directs employer-specific enquiries to official services. Where a source and our summary differ, use the primary source and its current scope; the employer remains the authority on its vacancy.
Commercial independence
The delivered site contains no advertising, paid placements, affiliate links, paid rankings or sponsored employer profiles. External references are included for their relevance. No payment is required to read or download the current resources. If the publication introduces a commercial relationship later, it should be identified clearly beside the relevant material.
